Welcome to Mandala Yoga

Hello, my name is Caroline and a warm welcome to Mandala Yoga.

Many have asked why I chose the name Mandala Yoga for my Hatha, flow and chair yoga classes.  Not only are Mandalas beautiful, they represent the circle of life, relieve stress, offer protection, personal growth, spiritual development and inner peace.

The benefits of yoga are enormous.  Improved mental and physical wellbeing, increased flexibility, strength and balance whilst reaching mindfulness and self-awareness.  Yoga can help reduce stress and anxiety, enhance focus and concentration and improve sleep and mood.

I offer a variety of Hatha, flow and chair yoga classes so EVERYONE is welcome, young and old, including complete beginners, those who haven’t exercised for many years and students with limited mobility.

Classes are held in my beautiful yoga studio in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.  The studio has plenty of natural daylight and can hold up to 8 students.  Please note there are 13 steps (not steep) up to the studio.

Mandala is also a style of yoga – a circular yoga flow that emphasises movement in all directions, promoting greater awareness often incorporating elements of Vinyasa and Yin yoga, along with concepts like the four elements, Earth, Water, Fire and Air.  Classes in Mandala yoga will follow shortly.

Our ancient woodland in Berkhamsted is protected and stunning.  On a warm, sunny day, enjoy a class under the trees, surrounded by nature. If you have time, you may wish to join me after your class for a chat and complimentary refreshments.  Or, weather permitting, we may go for a silent woodland walk.

My weekly chair yoga classes are for those who, for whatever reason, are not keen on getting up and down from the floor. These classes are also for those with limited mobility (although you will need to be able to climb the 13 steps up to the studio). ‘A lovely space for yoga with appropriate music in the background. Caroline eased me into the session gently and concentrated on positive breathing and balance. She demonstrated the poses clearly as well as explaining what the benefit would be. It was encouraging to be told when I was holding a pose correctly and also encouraging to be told how to improve a pose. Breathing exercises were introduced as well as the inhalation and exhalation during poses. Caroline has a lovely calm voice very suitable for yoga.’
